blog 5

Making videos and writing are very similar. Just like in writing a paper, in a video you have to make a thesis, an argument that you are going to be putting forth in the video, then you have to structure the video so that you can successfully put forth your argument with good points and good evidence. Without structuring your video, it’s almost as if you are talking about random things and not getting anywhere with your argument. Unlike the essay though, in a video you have both the audio and the visual portion, which both require different planning, in order to match them together, and to make the background relevant to both your argument and what your current point in the argument is, while with an essay, only the words are needed. Proofreading is also important in both videos and essays, because you will always be graded on your facts, and the way you present yourself by either the teacher, or angry internet fans that seem to make a habit in finding the smallest flaw in everything. They are scary, and mean, don’t be them. So making sure that all facts are correct is a huge thing in writing both.
